I would like to learn more on the herb blue cohosh.
Blue cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictriodes) is a woodland plant found growing in deciduous forests in eastern North America. It grows 30-60 centimetres (1-2 feet) high.
The rootstock is used to regulate menstruation. The native Indians used it to induce labour and to treat children's colic and for cramps. The plant is very powerful and parts can cause dermatitis and posisoning. It should not be used without medical supervision.
For more information see Deni Bown's book "The Encyclopedia of Herbs & Their Uses" (available from Richters).
