Pesto: What is It?

What is pesto and where can I find out how to make it?

Pesto is a herb paste made with fresh herbs and oil. The herb is cut fresh and chopped finely in a food processor to produce a paste that is served with pasta and other dishes. Basil is most commonly used, but many other herbs can be used also. Herbs such as tarragon, sorrel, and parsley are all excellent in pestos.
